Personal Journey

I’m Not ALWAYS Studying!

This past weekend was AWESOME. Not only was it the weekend after my second to last gross anatomy exam, but it was also my one weekend during the entire class that I got to go home! Woohoo!!

This weekend we had some family in town because they were seeing Hamilton downtown, it was my brother’s birthday, AND it was my cousin’s birthday. What a weekend to celebrate!

On Saturday we went downtown to show the visiting family Navy Pier, Millennium Park, etc. I love my family so much that I went in the ferris wheel…that says something.

While the visiting family were at the show, my mom, dad, brother, fiancé, and I went to 2 rooftop bars, Cindy’s and the LondonHouse. Cindy’s overlooked Millennium park and the LondonHouse was by the river and, unfortunately, Trump tower < this is only said to give you an idea as to where we were.

Here are a few cute pictures from the day:

Don’t let the smile fool you… 😉

We ended the day eating Giordano’s deep dish pizza (YUM!) and playing pool with my cousins.

Sunday we went to church and had a lazy day by the pool and celebrated the birthdays. I absolutely loved being with my aunt, uncle, cousins, grandparents, parents, and brother…not to mention “my” doggo!

I got the sweet taste of what summer would have been like. Ah, what a dream.

Unfortunately we had to head back to STL at 5:00, but we had a pretty fun ride back so I can’t complain about that!

Needless to say, I’m excited for next week to be over. Why? BECAUSE THERE IS ONLY ONE MORE WEEK OF GROSS ANATOMY!!! & THEN I GET TO GO HOME! Yes!

This one weekend at home got me even more excited, if that was even possible, for the family vacations to come in August.

A HUGE shoutout and thank you to my parents who are supporting me both financially and emotionally during this hard summer and rewarding me with a vacation to Hawaii (no, that isn’t actually why we are going, but it’s a nice touch to my “summer!”) I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without you, and for that I am forever grateful. I love you!
