Time to Vacation: Oahu Style!

I’m thrilled and overjoyed to say that I have successfully completed my Gross Anatomy class. I can now focus on learning how to be the best of the best occupational therapist! Woo!

Gross Anatomy was definitely the hardest class I’ve ever taken. I mean, I couldn’t even keep up with updating my blog every week. Between lecture, lab, studying, work, and sleeping, I really had no extra time. The class was an amazing experience and if I had to do it again, I think I would. Besides, having some solid background knowledge might make the experience a little less stressful and a little more enjoyable.

We ended the class with doing the pelvis, legs, and feet. They were all very interesting and it was cool to see all of the layers of muscles in the legs… just peel back one layer and find another, and then another, and then another. Overall, the legs were pretty fun to learn.

Now, ENOUGH WITH GROSS ANATOMY. ITS OVER.

Time to vacation!

This week I am spending time in Oahu, HI with a big group of my family. The 9 hour flight wasn’t even all that bad – mainly because I slept 5.5 hours total! We departed O’hare Airport at 10:30am and landed in Oahu at 2:30pm. (Think about it, time change).

We had to wait awhile for the rental car, but once we got that up and running we headed straight to Costco to get our food for the week. The nice thing about going on vacation with so many people is that you can split up a huge grocery list and get it all done pretty quickly!

After we finished at Costco, we headed to the hotel. We are staying at Aulani, the Disney resort on Oahu. As soon as you exit your car, the Cast Members put a lei around your neck and show you the lay of the land. This lei is no ordinary lei, though. It is made of REAL flowers that must smell like heaven.

Once everything was up in our room, the kids went down to the beach to look around and have a little fun. We threw around a frisbee in the sea and went to check out the infinity pool, hot tubs, and slides. Then we went up, had dinner, played a few rounds of One Night Werewolf and headed to bed at 9pm because jet lag is real, you guys.

P. S. I wrote this at 5:30am Hawaii time because, again, jet lag is real.

Today we are going to Pearl Harbor and relaxing by the beach and pool. Maybe we will even go snorkeling!

Talk to you soon!
