Oahu – Aulani Update!

This vacation has been so much fun – and it isn’t even over yet!

Since my last update, we have done a few exciting things along with the usual at the resort.

A few days ago we went to the Dole plantation. We didn’t go on the train tour because we did that last time we were in Hawaii and it was a total blow. While we were there we walked around the huge store and took some funny pictures in a pineapple with our 1 foot high dole whips.

Another exciting thing that we have done is surfing lessons! We took lessons from an AMAZING teacher, Danny Boro. Surfing with him was definitely a highlight from the trip thus far. It was more wavy than he had expected, but we all were pro surfers by the end 😉 In reality, I’m writing this the day after and my arms feel like noodles they’re so sore from paddling out to sea. If you are planning a trip to Oahu, definitely take lessons from Danny.

Side note: I had so much fun surfing that I didn’t even notice until we were completely done that I had jammed my thumb at some point, making it a very massive looking thumb in comparison to my other one!

On Tuesday night we went to a luau at the Disney Resort which was really interesting and enjoyable. We had VIP entrance admission, so we got to go in early and had free drinks the entire time. I tried a few new tropical cocktails that I’ll be sure to order again! They also had stations for making leis and getting temporary tattoos. After the activities we ate dinner and watched the show. The show had fire twirlers and hula dancers which were amazing! I took a few videos and will post when I am back home and have access to my computer.

Besides those excursions, we have been hanging out on the beach, floating around in the lazy river, relaxing in the infinity pool, watching movies, playing games upon games upon games, and making sand castles which actually means digging holes as deep as possible and connecting them underground. We also had everyone SUPing a few days ago which was so much fun and we got some drone footage of that as well.

All of the pictures and videos will be posted after vacation! Be sure to come back and check them out.
